We had consistently thought that the time difference between Costa Rica and Los Angeles was 3 hours - but turns out it is just 1 hour - so that explains why we are so darn tired right now - it is not 7 pm as we thought in LA right now, but 9 pm! Apparantly there is no DST (Daylight Savings Time) because according to all maps the difference should be two hours...
Our trip started in LA at 6 am this morning when we left the (horrible and old and smelly) Travelodge at LAX. We went to Alamo to return our car, took the bus to Copa Airlines and stood in a loooong line there waiting to check in - what is up with not having self checkin??? Took forever and the kids were getting ready to kill each other ;)
The first leg of the trip was from LA to Panama City - 6 hour trip. The plane was new and modern and had touch screen entertainment on each seat - thank you Copa Airlines - that made the trip so much more pleasant! I saw "Friends with Benefit" and I LOVED IT - I can really tell all you girls out there - this is THE best movie (for entertainment only) I have seen in a long long time! But then again I am not very picky :)
I had Theodore next to me, Arild sat at a different row with Bella and William sat in the middle another place - squeezed in between two large men :) We had two meals and all in all I was very happy at the end of the trip - tired - but happy.
Our wait in Panama City (which btw, from the view in the airplane - is a HUGE city) was just an hour and a half and smooth.
The last leg back north up to Costa Rica took only an hour and here we are - at Holiday Inn Express. The kids have showered and we are ready for our adventure to start tomorrow! We are going to our home for the next 9 days - Uvita House!
